2021 Novice & Masters Dryland Competition and OGT Camp

We had an action packed weekend! OAS balanced both the OGT Camp as well as the Novice & Masters Dryland Competition. In this recap, we will highlight some of the memorable moments from each events.

OGT Camp

Starting with the OGT Camp,  we had two days of amazing workshops with our OGT experts, focusing on a wide spread of disciplines including self care, pilates, flexibility, artistic impression and mental performance.

Stacey Umeh (founder of The Creative Movement Group in Australia) joined us both days to teach the athletes a dance routine entitled “Unity With Purpose”.  This will be the OGT Dance Project that will be made into a special compilation video for the athletes.

Senior National Team members, Jacqueline Simoneau and Claudia Holzner, joined our athletes for a special Q&A. They talked to the athletes about training tips, competition anxiety, the process of working together as duet partners and teammates and the olympic journey. We are so lucky to have these wonderful role models in our sport!

Knowledge is power! Over the course of the weekend, the athletes were asked to bring their own “Peer Pearls of Wisdom” to share with the group. These were small stories, messages or tips that they have leaned over the course of their training and wanted to share with the rest of their OGT peers.

Novice Meet Recap

Over 250 athletes competed on Saturday via video submissions. The event took over 11 hours and was only possible because of our dedicated judges. The athletes showcased their strength and flexibility and were judged on their cobra, right and left splits, plank hold, and dryland ballet leg. Thanks again to the parents, siblings and furry friends for helping with the filming process for all these athletes training from home!
