PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

OAS coaches are awarded professional development (PD) points for completing courses and programs that add tools to their coaching skill set.

WEBINARS

Webinars are a great way for coaches to learn skills that will help them better support their athletes from the comfort of their own homes, while also earning PD points! Webinars will be posted here as they are developed.

THIRD-PARTY RESOURCES & COURSES

We are fortunate to be able to leverage several programs from other notable sport organizations. These programs are available to all registered Ontario coaches and provide an opportunity for OAS coaches to expand their knowledge and understanding of leadership in sport.

Coaches Association of Ontario

The Coaches Association of Ontario is an independent, non-profit organization that supports coaches from community level to high performance across all sports in Ontario. The CAO works to provide coach development, funding opportunities, and events to provide support, recognition and representation for all coaches in Ontario.

Coaches Association of Canada

Through its coach educationresearch, and advocacy programs, the CAC unites partners and stakeholders in its commitment to raise the skills and stature of coaches, and ultimately to expand their reach and influence.

CAC programs empower sport coaches and sport organizations in Canada with knowledge and skills, promotes ethics, fosters positive attitudes, builds competence, and increases the credibility and recognition of coaches.

Canadian Sport For Life

By bridging gaps between sectors, creating new collaborations with Canadian institutions, and mobilizing knowledge to communities across the country, Canadian Sport for Life aims to create a future in which everyone has access to quality sport and physical literacy experiences.

Canadian Sport Institute Ontario

The Canadian Sport Institute Ontario is a member of a network of Canadian Sport Institutes across the country designed to enhance the daily training environment of Canada’s high performance athletes and coaches. The Institute’s goal is to provide best in class daily training environments for athletes, coaches, and practitioners through excellence in leadership, services, and programs in Ontario.

Women in Coaching

Women continue to make outstanding contributions to Canada’s sport sector but remain significantly under-represented in coaching.

Women in Coaching is a CAC-directed national campaign to increase the number of coaching opportunities for women at all levels of sport. Women in Coaching provides resources for female coaches to continue to make an impact in the sport community.
