Ontario Artistic Swimming is excited to offer a unique partnership opportunity for Ontario clubs! In lieu of January’s Lisa Alexander figure and routine meet, OAS will be facilitating partnered training and relationship-building sessions between Ontario clubs on a team-to-team basis from January 20 to 23, 2022.
Registered teams will be paired with a “partner team” of the same age group in a different region and assigned a two-hour virtual session time during the weekend. During these sessions, coaches of each team are asked to lead the group through a dryland workout, flexibility training, or other training typical of that team’s regular programming. (Swimmers are also welcomed to lead the session if there is an interest from that team.) This is aimed at providing a learning opportunity for each team, allowing swimmers to experience diverse training programs and workout styles.
Between each team-led segment, we invite each team to socialize and engage in relationship building activities and conversations. This may be done by open ended conversation, games, or team-building activities. By creating these partnerships, we hope to provide OAS athletes with a space to connect with their peers, and begin to create friendships that can grow beyond virtual sessions. A list of conversation-starters and ideas for activities will be distributed prior to the session.
Participation in this opportunity is optional, but encouraged.. To register, coaches are asked to please submit the attached Formstack no later than Monday, January 17.
