Burning Bright – Official Release
The month of October is known as Cancer Action Month and every year for the past 15 years Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS) has partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) to raise money for Breast Cancer through our Burning Bright Campaign.
Burning Bright has been a huge achievement for our member clubs and OAS has succeeded in raising over half a million dollars over these last 15 years. We are pleased to announce that the 2019 campaign added another $17,170.21 being donated.
It is a thrill to recognize once again, our top club fundraiser…Sudbury Synchro Swimming Club Raising over $9,000, Sudbury Synchro conducted bake sales, a candle relay, sold t-shirts and swim caps, engaged in community outreach for support and so much more. Over the last 15 years Sudbury Synchro successfully raised over $100,000 through their club’s Burning Bright. Special acknowledgement also goes out to the Burlington Synchro Swimming Club in second place and Mississauga Synchro Club in third place.
The top three individual athlete fundraisers are Morgan Cairns from Burlington Synchro Swimming Club in first place, Heidi Fink from Sudbury Synchro Swimming Club in second place and Madison Hook from Mississauga Synchro in third place.
We extend a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to our top three clubs and athletes.
We would also like to thank all the coaches, athlete’s, officials, family members and everyone else that participated in our 16th year of Burning Bright and take great pride in knowing that our combined efforts are making a difference.
