Ontario Artistic Swimming has begun the process of forming the Candidate slate of those seeking election to the Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS) Board of Directors for 2024-2027. In September 2024, two board positions will be open for election.
- OAS President, Pat McCann is eligible for re-election, Pat has indicated she plans to seek a new 3-yearterm.
- OAS Director-at-Large, Alla Grigoryan has served the OAS community for the past three years and will not be seeking re-election. On behalf of the OAS Board of Directors and the OAS community we would like to take this opportunity to thank Alla for her service to the artistic swimming community.
The Nominations Committee invites anyone interested in being a candidate for the 2024–2027 board to complete the Nomination Form and Nominee Profile. The Nominations Committee encourages a broad representation of applicants as OAS is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse environment and encourages applications from all eligible individuals. Importantly, OAS believes in fostering a diverse and inclusive environment as a key step toward eliminating barriers to access and equity. OAS encourages individuals who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, otherwise-abled, and other under-represented identities to submit their nomination. It is critically important that we reflect the diverse communities across Ontario that we serve. All applications will receive consideration.
Skills beneficial to a governance board model include those related to business, relationship development, communications, marketing, finance, change management, and the sport of artistic swimming. Criteria used to guide the Nominations Committee include integrity, discretion, interpersonal skills, prior board and committee experience, and knowledge of artistic swimming.
Elections for these positions will take place during the Annual Meeting, Thursday, September 26, 2024. Timeline
Week of June 26, 2024: Call for Nominations opened.
August 26, 2024: Nomination Form and Nominee Profile are due by 4:30pm EST. Forms must be submitted through the Online Registration Form.
Week of August 26, 2024: Candidate interviews with Nominating Committee members begins.
September 11, 2024: The Nominating Committee will announce the slate of Candidates for the 2024-2027 board via email and on the OAS website.
September 26, 2024: OAS Annual Meeting and election.
