Last week, Ontario Artistic Swimming officially kicked off its 2025-2026 season with its Lisa Alexander Skills and Figures Meets in Waterloo, Nepean, and Etobicoke!

The OAS community reunited after a long offseason at our annual Lisa Alexander Skills and Figures Meets. The athletes had a brilliant start to the season, showcasing their attention to precision and technical details through the figures and skills they refined during the offseason.

Royal City Artistic Swimming Club kicked things off on December 7th, with our West Meet. Here, the Club hosted 288 athletes, representing Brant, Ignite, London, Mississauga, Waterloo, and Royal City. Later that week, on December 13th, Nepean Artistic Swimming Club hosted the North/East Meet, welcoming 172 athletes from five clubs: Sudbury, Durham, Go Capital, Nepean, and Kawartha. Meanwhile, the Central Meet, led by the Toronto Artistic Swimming Club, featured 325 athletes, representing Granite, Durham, Remix, Toronto, York, Olympium, and Markham.

This event marked the second season where athletes demonstrated their skills in person rather than virtually, a change that allowed for more efficient judging, practice performing, and a more gradual transition into the competitive season.

Additionally, this event served as the first portion of the qualification process for 11-12, Youth, and Adapted athletes to the 2026 Ontario Winter Games. Figure scores from this event will be combined with routine scores earned at our Upcoming Winter Waves Classic to qualify athletes in the 11-12 Team, Youth Team, and Adapted Duet and Solo events.

Results from the Lisa Alexander Skills and Figures Meets can be found here: West, North/East, Central.

Thank you to our host clubs, Royal City Artistic Swimming Club, Nepean Artistic Swimming Club, and Toronto Artistic Swimming Club, for all your support and hospitality last week. OAS would also like to thank all the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters who attended the events and helped us start our season with a splash!

OAS wishes everyone a wonderful holiday season! We look forward to seeing everyone in Nepean at our Winter Waves Classic 2026!
