May Nutrition Series with Jennifer Sygo
Propoer nutrition plays an important role in sport performance and falls within our OAS value of health and wellbeing. On recommendation from our very own, internationally acclaimed Dr. Margo Mountjoy, we have been fortunate to engage the highly sought after Jennifer Sygo to work with us on our journey to educate athletes, coaches and parents on this critically relevant health related topic, particularly in artistic sports. Jennifer Sygo is a registered dietitian and sports nutritionist with Cleveland Clinic Canada in Toronto and lead Dietitian for Gymnastics Canada’s Women’s Artistic Program and numerous high level sport bodies. She will be joining us to share her sport nutrition expertise during three zoom sessions throughout the month of May. Jennifer will touch on a variety of topics to educate our community on how to properly fuel the body of an athlete for peak performance and avoid serious pitfalls!
The first session will take place on May 4th 7-8:30 p.m. and is open to our entire OAS community. This presentation will focus on topics like how to develop simple meal plans, plan appropriate meals around training sessions and identifying nutrients of concern to prevent deficiencies.
