Requirements for Virtual Training

Guidelines for Online Training

Online training or land drill sessions are considered pre-sanctioned by Ontario Artistic Swimming (i.e., a sanction request from clubs is NOT required). The OAS sanction covers virtual training sessions that meet the following criteria:

  • Led by a CAS-registered coach in good standing on the direction of OAS, the club head coach, or club lead coach, as appropriate
  • Involve a restricted list of athletes that are registered with OAS in a competitive stream (i.e., Novice, Provincial or National including Master athletes and CUASL)
  • Designed to ensure all aspects of a safe sport environment are followed, including observing guidance on one-on-one interactions (i.e., the training session involves more than a single minor athlete and coach)
  • Involve activities that are used for artistic swimming-related skill development and general fitness
  • Ensure athletes are reminded about safety at home (e.g., clearing the area they will use as their workout space of debris, use a mat, etc.)
