Ontario Artistic Swimming is excited to announce its plans for HP Talent Identification, Selection and Programming for the 2020-2021 season!
Led by OAS HP advisor Sheilagh Croxon, a task force of experienced Ontario coach leaders (see bios below) have worked to develop a plan that will ensure that OAS talent identified athletes are provided with expert programming, monitoring, and preparation to help them successfully develop along the High Performance Athlete Pathway set by Canada Artistic Swimming. Athletes will be monitored by Talent ID Scouts throughout the 2020-2021 season and based on performance improvement will be invited to an in-person camp in March 2021 to best prepare for Provincial and National Team summer selections.

Return to Sport enters Phase 3
We couldn’t be more excited to watch clubs transition back into a training environment. It is crucial that clubs take the time to ensure they are following all the guidelines and procedures outlined in our Framework for Return to Artistic Swimming in Ontario.
Clubs can expect an updated Framework that reflects the changes associated with Phase 3 on August 10, 2020. This document can be found on our COVID-19 Resources page or our Framework for Return to Sport page. Sanction requests for start of new season programming will be accepted after our August 10 final release of our OAS Phase 3 Return to Sport Framework.
Fill out an Injury Experience Survey and get rewarded!
OAS has been tracking injuries amongst all participants for 3 full seasons. The goal of this injury tracking program is to better understand how injuries occur during artistic swimming participation, in order to develop effective injury prevention strategies. OAS is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of all participants in artistic swimming in Ontario, and improving their experience in the sport. As part of that mission, we need to hear from you about your experiences with injuries in artistic swimming.
All coaches who engage in and complete the survey will receive 1 professional development (PD) point and each athlete will be entered to win some OAS swag! The athlete draw will take place on Sunday, August 23.
